Adelaide Botanic High School

As a student, I really dislike this school. I's "good reputation" is absolutely ridiculous. Education: The education is too reliant on self learning and I never had a good time in class. Trust me, i don't hate studying. I got alot of As and actually enjoyed my class time in primary school. Math Pathways is a TERRIBLY rated learning site and yet they get praised for tech? The laptops are not very good and they update without notice and yet they have a somehow "amazing" reputation for it. It's all a LIE. Safety and security: I was thought I was trapped in a small space and was left there for 45 minutes btw. LUCKILY it was a fire door and I wasn't actually stuck but the architecture in that area wasn't very safe. I experienced ALOT of peer rejection in my first year and it was terrible. The bullying policy is a LIE. And who came up with the stairs? I don't think it's very safe to have 1000+ students on high stairs at a time. We can't blame kids for dropping their laptop down the stairs or tripping. I almost fell down multiple times. We've had so many false fire alarms and had to escape the building for no reason. i guess we have some pretty shit alarms huh? Mind them, the stairs aren't a good idea for fires. The amount of glass also isn't safe. People can see through them? It looks so much like a cooperate building. Outdoor environment is...kind of...bad. Kids can EASILY run away anytime since there aren't any safe gates and we share a grass field with a public area?! I don't have much to say about it but the area is terrible. Indoor environment is just unsafe and very tiring to get through. I don't have much to say about it but it's just bad and overwhelming. Anyways, I hate this school and don't send your kids :D The "good" reputation is based off the fancy looks and everything. Most of what the teachers say are pretty scripted tbh.

I went to this school for a year and a half in high school and its the worst thing anyone can ever experience. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE, they will be bullied and the school does nothing to help absolutely nothing. I was bullied into changing myself so much that i couldn’t recognise myself, I even got physically bullied but still teachers dont do anything they dont care about your kid. DONT GO TO ABHS

Long story short, I do not like this school. At all. You might hear that this school has a "no bullying" policy. If that is true, it is VERY lax. So many students here have been bullied and the school has done nothing. But the moment someone makes a Snapchat sticker of their friend the school goes ballistic. This school has lost all respect from me and many others. The racism at this school is rampant, but hushed because the school would rather keep their dignity than do something about the harmful behaviour towards Indigenous students. A review on Reddit will tell you the school is trans-inclusive. This is anything but the truth. Students are constantly made fun of for being different and that is why I don't respect this school.

This school looks good from the outside but is honestly horrible on the inside. The teachers say they care abt thete students bur when someone so struggling they will be ignored. The teaching is horrible and the stundentakt are worse. this sxhool has a no bullying policy but there is so much bullying arounf. DO NOT RECOMNED
