Worst school environment

Teachers do not care or take any action when students who are harassed or bullied complain to them. However, when the victimised students retaliate, they get punished rather than the students who are misbehaving. This leads to the victimised students being both mentally and physically affected and there is no wellbeing support mechanism for the victims. This school environment brings out the worst of your child when it should be a place to bring out the best of your child. My advice is to never send your children to this school. Opt for home schooling if there is no other public high school in your area.

Worse environment for students

Teachers do not care or take any action when students complain about being harassed or bullied by other students. However, when the victimised students retaliate, they get punished by the same teachers. The students who practice harassment and bullying get away with no punishment but rather get more encouragement to continue doing so. Do not send your children to this school. The school environment only brings out the worst out of your child. Rather opt for home study if there is no other public high school option in the area.

The school just needs some work

Okay I’m going to be honest it’s not the worst school in the word and as long as your hanging around with the right people it’s a good place to be and there’s loads of awesome opportunities to take advantage of. but a lot of the teachers seem to hate there job and aren’t passionate about helping kids learn, and the vandalism is out of control to the point where you have to walk around for half an hour to find one bathroom open and it will most likely be a complete mess soap dispensers ripped from walls rubbish bins and there contents all over the floor and your lucky if you get there and there’s any toilet paper at all, and the school seems to have no idea how to help troubled students they just treat the symptoms instead of the actual case of problems, there’s not as many fights as there used to be but the school could definitely be a safer place, the homophobia and discrimination are really bad and teachers will do nothing about it. But In saying all this there are a few good teachers and as long as you surround yourself with good people your experience might not be terrible

This place stinks

It’s a pile of dog doo doo of a school we have at least 1 fight a day and vapers in every toilet and the teachers lock the students out of common areas for doing nothing wrong, the teachers for students to go out in the cold and hot weather doesn’t matter just out they go teachers say they care about our mental health and education when it’s the complete opposite I do not recommend bringing your children into this toxic environment as your children will develop ptsd or a fear..

Armidale secondary college.

The school itself shouldn’t have been built. Building a “super school” was never needed in Armidale. Duval and Armidale high had a pretty good system, instead of cramming over 1000 kids into one school. Inefficient and unnecessary. Bathrooms locked everyday at all hours due to “vaping”. On the news because of the violence when the kids getting into the fights were in them for good reason, touching up girls ect. You can never focus in any classes due to the literal glass walls separating all classrooms from the hallways, which kids wagging would distract classes from. The teacher shortage isn’t helping much either, I’m in year 11 and I’ve had atleast 3 teaches from uni doing their prac, they have in turn helped me lower my grade even more due to their inability to teach. Aswell as making math compulsory in year 11 and 12 because the statistics show that Armidale has horrible stats.

this may look it but PLEASE do not send ur child here as a student there there’s no control over students there’s no respect even from the teachers and they don’t do their job or care about the duty of care against their students. especially the aboriginal students

year 9

very average

it’s nothing great. it’s pretty new compared to other schools but still needs a lot of repair. major maintenance definitely needs to be done around the school as a lot of things are damaged/broken. yondr pouches are not great too.
