Balwyn High School

This school is extremely biased towards all the students who always suck up to all the teacher s or boost the schools test scores and they also protect them from heaps of things (punishments etc) aswell as actually give them some student voice yet the others are completely ignored and treated like trash.
A student received a suspension for doing something (I won’t name) but another student that did the exact same thing was not punished at all.
Only a tiny bit of teachers who are actually nice people and genuinely care about you or your feelings and aren’t biased or sexist and actually teach you properly, unlike others that make class or school feel like your just someone living under a dictatorship and just make life completely miserable.
Facilities aren’t the worst the classrooms are pretty decent however for some reason the school is very weird and strict/sexist on the toilets!? The boys toilets are closed quite often and they literally have a teacher assigned to 3 different boys toilets and one of them literally doesnt even have a door and they check the toilets every couple minutes and if there is too many people they will get kicked out or just find some stupid reason to get mad at you. However the girls get to do as they please being able to just casually waltz into a toilet without receiving a death stare from a teacher and just sit there for however long they want while being on their phones or just doing whatever the hell they do in there.
They are also extremely strict and biased with uniforms aswell its so annoying but I really can’t type anymore im getting tired but they will 90 percent care more about the colour of your socks or how tight your tie is over actual issues like vaping or bullying.


I could literally rant on and on about this terrible school but it’s so much I really can’t be bothered so overall everything about this school pretty much just sucks your better off going to any other school

This school is just horrible. I have been to many countries and schools in the world due to my family's continous migration and this is the worst school I've ever seen. The first day I went there I didn't want to speak so much in my new school, so I stayed on my own but the director of wellbeing, Sharon Gadner-Drummond had a meeting with my mum and used words like judging a prisoner. Then I started Term 1, and the director of Middle School, christopher land, arranges a meeting with my parents every week. Towards the end of term 2, I stayed up late to review for my test on the following day, so my mum was worried that I'm lost and made the teacher to go find me, but the teacher planned to send me to a school for people with special disabilities. In term 3, I was accused for sexually assaulting a girl simply for talking to her. In term 4, I wrote a nice word on the whiteboard but the SLWMs punished me for writing on the whiteboard without permission for $1000 fine and suspension of 2 weeks. They promised to tell my parents this after they found out the exact price, which they did not, then they first had a meeting, promising 3 times on EMAIL to include me in the meeting and hear my opinion, which they did not, and in fact suspended me BEFORE they even found out the exact price (which they had promised). In general, the teachers in this school is cunning, liar and untrustworthy, they do not care about students and have a discrimination on people especially boys.

The school is very racially motivated, and they don't manage bullying well. If your not Asian or White, they treat you as if your crazy, exclude you, etc. even teachers are racist, and believe in stereotypes. Bullying? The victim will get in trouble, even if they do nothing. you get suspended for nothing, you get in trouble for nothing, and the education is horrid. Along with the science teachers and english teachers reading off a slide, then considering themselves to be teachers. Plus, the sports are so random? we do everything beside a proper sport.

I have no problem with the school itself, but so many of the classrooms have a really chemical feel. The fluorescent lights in dark classrooms really make me feel like I’m living in a dystopia. I feel that the naturally lit classrooms feel the the most homely and fun to learn in.

For a school who prides themselves on their inclusive spirit and student voice, they do a very bad job. Student voice and inclusivity is reserved for those who boost up the schools marks and those who don’t over perform, they are ignored.
