School

Don’t send your kids here unless you want them destroyed

Bullying at this school is out of control and has been for some time. Families are leaving in large numbers because students are not being kept safe and concerns are repeatedly minimised, mishandled or ignored.

Serious issues have escalated to the point where the Queensland Human Rights Commission is now involved, which should never be necessary for a public high school simply to meet its duty of care to students.

There are deep concerns within the parent community about staff conduct, record-keeping, and the way bullying and harassment complaints are handled. Instead of clear, transparent processes, parents are met with verbal conversations that are not reflected accurately in writing, leaving no confidence in accountability.

The recent leadership changes have only increased concern. Rather than addressing the culture problems head-on, the school now has another principal whose leadership approach, based on publicly available reviews and community feedback, appears no better than the previous one. Rotating principals between struggling schools without clear explanation or evidence of reform does not fix systemic problems — it hides them.

Parents deserve honesty, transparency, and a school environment where children are safe. Until there is genuine cultural change, accountability, and independent oversight, I would strongly caution families considering this school.

This School Breaks You Down Instead of Protecting You

I’m a student, and I need people to know what it actually feels like inside this school. The culture here is one of the most toxic and damaging things I’ve ever experienced.

If you get sexually harassed and you say NO, somehow you end up suspended. That’s the type of logic this school runs on, punish the person who speaks up, ignore the behaviour that caused it. It makes you feel disgusting, powerless, and completely alone.

Fights happen constantly, and teachers take way too long to step in. Students get hurt while staff pretend everything is under control, when anyone who actually goes here knows it’s not.

But the worst part is the way leadership handles bullying. Instead of supporting you, it feels like the system turns against you. When you try to report things, they brush it off, twist it around, or make you feel like you’re the problem. It gets to the point where you stop asking for help because you know it won’t come.

It honestly feels like certain leaders protect themselves first, even if it means students suffer. It’s like the problems are hidden instead of fixed. And when staff defend each other instead of protecting kids, bullying gets worse to the point where students feel completely broken, hopeless, and like there’s no way out.

Kids shouldn’t be left feeling that level of pain. They shouldn’t feel scared to speak up, scared to come to school, or pushed so far that they feel like giving up completely. But that’s what this place does to you. And everyone knows what has happened here, how much harm this school’s culture has caused.

No student should ever feel like their life is being destroyed because adults refuse to listen, protect, or do their job.

I would never recommend this school to anyone. Not ever.

Unsafe and mismanaged school

This school has been one of the most disturbing experiences I’ve ever dealt with as a parent. The environment is completely unsafe, bullying is rampant, and the level of negligence from leadership is unbelievable.

Serious issues were repeatedly reported with evidence, yet the school either ignored them, minimised them, or tried to shift blame instead of protecting students. There is zero transparency, almost no accountability, and an obvious pattern of brushing problems under the carpet rather than addressing them properly.

Students who are struggling or being targeted are left to fend for themselves. Reporting anything feels pointless because nothing meaningful is done. The school talks about wellbeing, but the actual behaviour behind the scenes tells a very different story.

No child should have to feel scared or unsupported at school, and no parent should have to fight this hard just for basic safety and honesty. My experience has completely destroyed any trust I had in this place.

I would strongly urge families to think twice before sending their children here.

Beautiful!

Beautiful School staff with a wide variety of extracurricular activities and subjects to choose from. The Arts department are the most beautiful group of staff. All so funny who aim for inclusivity and fun. Amazing opportunities for inspiring musicians to join contemporary music programs like Songbirds.

Good Teachers - Bad School Environment

Drugs, Vaping, Partying and Alcohol all taught to kids here at this school, not like normal public schools but from year 7, 11 year Olds are already expected to be vaping or they get bullied. No toilets all smokers in there. Alot of hangs and gang violence and fights regularly. If your child likes to stay out of trouble watch out too because bullies will come get them - speaking from experience, if your child easily gets persuaded or peer pressured they will be on hard core drugs. For those with good children who you know will do the good thing, there won't be any groups for them so that child has to be independent to thrive- if so the teachers are exceptionally talented for the most part but teachers are constantly leaving because of the bad children here so unqualified teachers are having to teach some subjects. The punishment system here is non existent despite them trying to push it, and while some good opportunities are given, and wildly publicized, if your child is not tough and independent they will turn out to be a hard core drug dealer or bullied to the point of self harm as has happened alot here. Facilities are all being upgraded they say.

review

i love going to school it's just the new rules are bad because we've been able to wear whatever shorts and whatever shoes and socks for a while until they made it that you have to wear the shorts it's very unfair considering i was so use to wearing my Canterbury shorts and i actully loved wearing the uniform until they changed it. the new principle is alright but these rules are hopeless and it's getting too strict, the academy classes are very good tho, other than that i have fun at school but yeah. AND the tuck shop is getting to expensive.

High school

Personal experiences from an ex student.

I attended Beaudesert high school for year 10 and term 1 of year 11.

Some of the teachers were very respectful and clued on. However others weren’t. Some teachers were also experiencing bullying, so not the best work environment for them either. There is a major issue with bullying here, although this occurs in most public state schools.
It’s frustrating because when you defend yourself you are suspended for retaliation. So even if you are assaulted you are punished.

During my time here I left school grounds with friends because another student was threatening me. While out a teacher that found us mocked running us over. I reported this teacher to outside sources and he was punished and went through retraining.

I had reported to the office of other students harassing me and threatening violence, however the staff didn’t care.

A Student jumped out a second story window while under the influence of illicit drugs when I was attending. I’m unsure if the windows have been barred to prevent reoccurrence.

Bonus of the school is that it does offer horticulture and agriculture.

Probably one of the better public schools available, however your kids will likely come out traumatised with PTSD if they aren’t the bullies.

bad overall

used to go there, most of the principles they've had are horrible, don't help fix anything in the school that actually matters. bullying is rampant, but of course none of the staff care. most of the good teachers have already left.
