Hate this shit hole

This school is so bad I currently attend. I’ve been at this school for a few years and I can tell you all the other reviews aren’t lying. It’s such a bad school and the deputies lie to your face. The school system does have your phone number even though you don’t know. They will give it out to parents that ask for it. And they will lie to your face. All of the teachers think their doing something by giving students detention for “not paying attention”. But I love the english teachers, they’re hella chill. All the other teachers can suck a fat one especially that grotty principal Mr.Foti

Forced to drop out and so much more

The school has a very backwards way of thinking. They promote mental health and anti-bullying yet teachers and counsellors either turn a blind eye on a student asking for help or blow it out of proportion and further worsen their situation. Also fights and bullying are so common in every grade and kids aren’t getting properly educated on what’s right and wrong. The school just allows for horrible behaviour to continue amongst students.

Once I got to Year 11, I started struggling with keeping up with all my subjects as they just dump so much work all at the same time. When I asked for help multiple times, all the school did was put their hands up and said “it’s not hard just complete all the work or else you’ll be kicked out once you turn 17”. It got so bad that I had to look for a full-time job to leave school as soon as I could. There are no options to help a student achieve their full potential unless you pressure them enough.

All Bossley Park High School cares about is overall grades. They act like a private/ selective school and put so much pressure on kids. You start year 7 and immediately are hit with high expectations, year 10 you start getting subtle threats of “if you don’t do perfect, welcome to hell til you’re 17 then we’re kicking you out. Good luck”. Then it just gets worse and worse til if you’re lucky enough, you finally finish and get your atar.

In Year 7 there are around 200 odd kids, by year 12 you want to know how many kids are left in that grade? At best 16, on average 10-12.

There are so many things wrong with this school and if you asked even just 10 odd students, they’ll tell you exactly that.

The only good thing I can say is a good handful of the teachers were amazing. Definitely overworked and underpaid. The only support system I had was 2-3 teachers that allowed me to open up to them and helped me out. Seriously there are teachers out there that deserve to win the lottery or something.

Idk why I'm here

It's okay but the teachers don't help that much.

Subjects and Teachers

The math teachers won’t teach you anything. The english teachers are really chill you can get away with anything. The principal is rude so are the deputies. If you have an issue with someone attending there they won’t do anything about it but try their hardest to turn it against you. Food tech teaches you languages and shitty food you’ll never want to eat. Music is all about writing.
