here to confirm these other reviews. near the end of my time here, a few teachers were hired that actually cared about what they were doing. however the majority of them are only going in to get paid, and some seemed to actually enjoy verbally abusing the students.

yes, the school is falling apart. it actually has a lovely layout, but instead of repairing the buildings, they’re wasting all their money trying to make the school look ‘aesthetic’ from the outside.

this school has turned a blind eye to bullying, pedophelia, sexual assault etc. pushing it under the rug in order to keep up the image of a high achieving, private style school. little to no support for students, and a gross amount of negligence. a few years ago, one of our teachers was consistently verbally abusing students in our class and bringing them to tears! we had enough and recorded it on our ipads. the whole class tried to report it but a blind eye was turned. coordinators wouldn’t even listen to the video claiming we were in the wrong for filming it. they didn’t want to know.

this school is home to many students from low income families, yet those families were still forced to buy new overpriced uniforms that doesn’t even fit most of the girls. students who couldn’t afford certain items would just be slapped with detentions.

cut most of the performing arts classes to make room for a soccer school. if your kid is into performing arts, this school isn’t the fit. however if you pay for separate lessons, depending on the instrument, class sizes are quite small and nice. what happened to glee club?

the school isn’t all bad. while some may be rough around the edges. the community of students is beautiful, which i attribute to a decent foundation in their primary sector. the students here look out for each-other, and there are some angelic teachers who really do care amongst the rubble.

but unfortunately, this school has terrible administration & values; unwilling to make change.

a school with so much potential, but a school ran by people who care more about money and getting more enrolments than supporting and fostering the students they already have.

SEE program

High school at Carwatha college

the teachers are either to old to deal with kids/teenagers or too young. there are only a few teachers that actually hold the values of a teacher and care for their students, other teachers are just there for the pay and shouldn’t be working with children AT ALL.
they have an advanced academic class know as the SEE program
the school wastes it’s money and resources on useless things that do not help the students eg. trying to make the school look like a private one with a new school uniform that is uncomfortable and scratches as well as it costing over $150 plus additional fees
some of the classrooms are falling apart and
students are often getting suspended or detentions when they are not the ones at fault
the school cares more about their public image then the students themselves.
overall Carwatha college is not the worst school in the southeast area but it is pretty close

Not the best

It’s alright for a government school, but with that there are so many things going wrong. Students phones are taken off them immediately if seen by staff, no matter during classes, break times or even before school starts or after being dismissed it will be taken, no warnings either making it hard for students to communicate with guardians after school and checking timetables. Uniform is uncomfortable and not very nice looking, as well as the ‘proper’ uniforms costing up to $200. Teachers are getting worse, being too old to deal or being to young to deal. Constant student suspension and detention, often without reason or student not actually at fault. New house group system being a huge hassle for everyone and just being plain useless to everyone. Would recommend if u wanted a safer school or a more involved school, but overall pretty bad.

Alright

Good enough, good sports programs, good program for super smart kids and so many opportunities. Everything is easily accessible. Students can get reckless but i thinks it’s more based on home activities.

Shit school should avoid your kids from going here the teachers are amazing but however the school is to out dated to the point where some classroom are falling apart and the school wase its money on unnecessary items such as wasting money on an new school uniform which students not being informed with the chnage and telling students if they don't get the new school uniform they will be punish for it and being and middle to low income school the uniform cost $150 plus in additional needs adding up the cost trying to make the school look like an private school if the school didn't look like an concentration camp
