Not very good!

My teachers were awful! I got in trouble for being 1 minute late and the class hadn’t even gone inside yet! Also apparently we can’t not try to stop fights otherwise we’ll get in trouble for not wanting to get involved and possibly hurt! What the heck?! Also we did more work in cooking for writing than ACTUAL COOKING! I shouldn’t even bother to mention how expensive a tiny little drumstick ice cream is! My cousin said you can get a box of 12 for only $6 and the tuck shop is selling them for $3 EACH. Thats $2.50 more than they’re worth! Then there’s the seating plans. The teachers do not care one bit about whether you hate who you’re next to or not! My English teacher didn’t even care that I was behind a huge bully who was extremely rude to me and my friend and I think I forgot to mention how she took his side whenever he’s rude to me! Also apparently I can get expelled for putting 4 drops of a drink on someone because it’s a quote, “violent reaction” to having my water bottle thrown on the ground and my pencil case stolen so I had to snatch it back and having boys lean their chairs on my desk when they know it annoys me! Oh and I was told people have been expelled for that as well! Yet I don’t see any of the bullies being actually punished. Also these teacher need to actually make people go to the back of the tuck shop line, nobody ever gets in trouble for pushing in. I have 3-6 mostly boys push in front of me to join their friends and like 2 or 3 of them actually asked first (I said no to all of them because I’m not gonna be waiting even longer to get my food). I had like 5 weeks worth of HPE turned into HPT for whatever stupid reason the teacher had. If you absolutely loath your child, this is the perfect school for them.

Great school

Great school. Son is in prep this year and nothing but positive feedback. Bullies attend every school, can’t say Coombabah is any worse than any other school.

Sleazy teacher

On my daughters final week before graduating she came home with a hand written letter and personalised Spotify play list from a male teacher. We met with the DP to discuss how inappropriate this was and that the teacher had crossed some boundaries. We were advised that the matter would be investigated.
We never received an outcome and to those day, left wondering what happened.

I was bullied at the school

My experience at this school was horrific and a strain on my mental health, the school work was stressful and demanding and the students at the school were terrible many of the students are disruptive verbally physically abusive towards fellow students and teachers and many student have assaulted other students oustide of school many kids have gone to the school about it and nothing have been done many male students have verbally harrased female students and made gestures towards them I did not feel safe at the school and I still don't just walking past the school is to obsessed with there image to address the disgusting behaviour of there students and the lack of care and neglect from the teachers.

Academy

Coombabah High

It is a good school despite its reputation. Teachers try very hard with education and to keep all the students in the loop, as well as trying to get students the grade they deserve. there are so many extra curricular activities such as after school and lunch clubs, and many excellence programs like Academy for athlete development training, rugby team, academic excellence, art exc, etc… and they all provide exactly what you expect and more to cater to what your goals are.

Great school but poor people

Let’s be for real sure the school has an amazing sports program and art program but they are always spending money trying to be the best school in Coombabah and if you aren’t popular or in the sports program no one likes you not Evan the teachers. it is bullshit they focus on the popular kids who don’t do work and alway disrupt lessons than on the good kids who do there work and aren’t swearing at the teachers every second of the lesson. They also expect that everyone who goes to the school is rich they are making the school a BYOD school and expect everyone to have a device although some kids aren’t filthy rich and can’t afford mac books/ laptops

Bare minimum education, terribly managed

Barely satisfactory. The school is know for its sports program, but puts little effort into arts or academics. Very minimal focus on STEM, poorly funded arts program, and does the bare minimum for a diverse curriculum. School events and assemblies are inconsistent and ineffectively managed. Additionally, serious behavioural issues are not addressed in lieu of policing uniform. Violence and disruptive behaviours are barely acknowledged. This school will provode the bare minimum of a secondary education, but not much more.
