This school is a joke.

I'm going to be very blunt with this; Dakabin is an underfunded and poor excuse of a school full of administrators who only care about trying to boost the school's rightfully earned dreadful reputation as a place no one should go to, and I feel bad for everyone who still has to go there. Real education is not a high priority, only trying to impress others with how prestigious their students are. In fact, the place cares so much about appearances that some administrators and teachers care more about whether you're wearing the exact correct shade of socks than if you're suffering from heat stroke. One of the main administrators there would constantly complain and go on about how the students were always doing terribly during important events, including graduation, and was routinely unfair on students for not being absolutely 100% perfect all the time. In short, the school talks the talk, but cannot and will not walk the walk, because that would require putting in some real effort; something this place hasn't known of in years.

Assignment times and educational content is unprofessionally mismanaged, and everyone during the years of 2021-2023 found themselves being overwhelmed with piles and piles of assignments with no downtime or breaks. Assignments were even assigned during the holidays, had due dates in the holidays, and were expected to be completed during the holidays. The actual educational content in itself is laughably outdated on top of it, and has barely any tangible value for any of their students' futures. This was incredibly mentally taxing to go through for everyone, including the teachers. Teachers are overstressed and overworked due to the awful treatment from the equally awful students at this school, who are often racist, misogynistic and homophobic towards everyone around them. They don't deserve to have to deal with that, and I'm certain they don't get paid enough for it.

The school has a shocking lack of resources. As someone who took the music class there, I was left troubleshooting and trying to fix broken, outdated and defective amps and instruments instead of doing my actual work for an hour, and I was never even actually taught how to use the instruments properly in the first place, again, due to the lack of assignment time. Art class was a similar story. Broken paintbrushes and expired paints were a common occurrence, and the art room did not have sufficient air ventilation for us to be using oils during some assignments. And instead of spending any money on trying to fix these glaring issues, they have instead chosen to waste it on security cameras that do not get used, and 3D printing a bunch of useless plastic coins to distribute to the students that only get lost and hurt the environment. There are hundreds of other issues I could mention as well, like how some classrooms still did not have air conditioning by the time I left, how some parts of the school are poorly built and unsafe to walk on, how one of the classrooms still has asbestos in the walls (which kids kept putting holes into) and more, but I do not have the time nor the patience to mention absolutely all of them.

Have fun trying to get your information (like changed names and addresses) updated by the school. The people at the office are lovely but they are extremely slow at getting anything done. They routinely hold on to outdated and incorrect information that, despite supposedly being properly updated in their system, will keep popping up and causing confusion with students and parents. They are very slow at sending students home early as well. It takes about 20, sometimes even 30 minutes for them to call your name out on the intercom system or call your parents, even if you're right there in front of them in the office.

This school is a joke. Don't bother with it. At least the tuckshop food is nice, and the agriculture parts seem okay, but that's just about all this school has going for it. There are good reasons why this school continues to maintain the reputation it has, and you'd be ignorant to not listen to them.
