I’m not gonna sugar coat it, it fucking sucks. the education is good and elective classes I love, but when comes anything else it’ll make you hate your teenage years. It’s full of she said, they said bullshit, I’m constantly in fear of my own safety there. Teachers care more about if you have facial piercings, than your own well-being and education. The school itself acts like private school when it’s public school. Teachers there do not care about your mental health if you’re not in class. While education is good for an public school, and electives they have there is amazing, school is falling behind on safety and well-being of their students by a long shot. If you’re apart any minority , like being trans, have a disability, a person of colour it’s even worst.

Outrages!!

Terrible, teachers acuse students of bad behaviour just because there peer/peers were involved. They group students with other students and punish the group even if theres innocent students in the group. They have many phyical fights almost weekly. I do not recommend this school to anyone... think before you send your child here. The schools education system is not terrible but how they teach the circulum is terrible. They deal with situations terribly. Most teachers just call me any chance they get! Mainly Trent timmers. This school is awful and unfair to students, no wonder children/students have mental health issues. There well-being team is terrible!! There is so much more I can write all though I have been dealing with 3 miss calls from the school and I can not be bothered wasting my energy and time..

Good not perfect

Generally pretty good, with a large amount of teaches who put in the effort
The canteen is good
Main complaints are that they put lockers in high traffic areas and some rules regarding technology are a bit silly

Geelong Highschool is Terrible.

If I could give this a negative rating I would. Terrible School for any transgender people, the staff will disrespect you by ‘accidentally’ putting your legal name on the cafeteria window, they will call it out in class, they will misgender you, fully knowing that you use (instert pronouns). They will stick your legal name in the yearbook with a picture of you above it, all of this even if you sign up as your desired name, they say it’s a safe place and they respect lgbtqia+ people but they don’t, they are lying and talking to them do not help.

It is not just the staff, but the kids as-well, the majority are horrible, when I attended (start of 2020 - to the start of 2022), I used he/him pronouns. The kids mocked me, misgendered me, and talked about my body in sexual, inappropriate ways, just because I was transgender. They bullied me, and It was terrible.

The final straw for me was coming back to school after the holidays, I was nervous and didn’t want to go in so me and my mother were going to have a chat to a teacher (my house leader). While we were sitting in the waiting room (it was around the middle of 2021), I noticed the 2020 yearbook was out, I checked it and they had put my legal name in there after I had told them not too, and they promised they would try and tell someone to ‘change it’, as I signed up to the school as (desired name) and wanted to be known by it, which effected me deeply and upset me, I ran out crying and never went back.

By that time I had already gotten my school photo taken for the 2021 yearbook.

Even after I left, and meetings with teachers were made, even after they promised, to my face, that ‘it would never happen again’, it did.

In 2022 the 2021 yearbook came out, I had told my friend who still attended to let me know if they did it again. I was out and about with a different friend when I got a message, It was a photo of my photo in the 2021 year book, with my legal name under it, I was distraught and it ruined my day out. They had promised and they had broken that promise, and I wasn’t even attending the school when they were supposedly making and publishing the yearbook.

This is the worst experience with a School so far, that I have ever had. To this day I have diagnosed PTSD (nightmares, flashbacks, can’t attend a mainstream school because of anxiety) due to those horrible events.

School education is good but it’s still scummy

Bullying problem is fucked, but the education is good.
Fights almost every week so that’s kinda scummy

This school is dogshit.

The school has only a few god classes, and that’s it. There’s bullying, awful students and the school only cares for itself and it’s teachers. The students are either dangerous or in danger.

shit school, doesn’t let you express urself, teachers are assholes and only care about ur appearance rather than the bullying, so many reports of kids coming in with knifes, bashes, lots of fights
