Terrible, awful place

Please don’t waste your money or your time going here. You’ll get just as good as an education at a public school, if not better. GNLC follows the exact same curriculum as any other school.

GNLC cares more for their image and uniform than the education, mental health or self expression of students. They’ll send you home for not wearing a blazer, which is detrimental to your education. Hey GNLC, nobody cares if your students wear nail polish or jewellery, it’s 2025 not the 18th century. Focus on teaching students, not what they look like. You’re teaching children that nobody can be unique or express themselves.

Some teachers are clearly not qualified to teach. One teacher by the initials RW is mentally delayed and shouldn’t have a career in education when she is not educated herself. She has taught false things to classes before.

I was badly bullied and this fact was repeatedly dismissed and nothing was ever done about it. I was asked by school chaplain JH “are you sure that’s actually happening?” furthermore when i took it into my own hands and stood up for myself, i was verbally abused by teachers and punished for doing what they couldn’t do and trying to stop my bullying.

Chaplain JH also disclosed my personal information that I disclosed to him in confidence about my childhood trauma. JH told his wife, who was also a teacher at the school, AH, and she spread it around. This resulted in my entire family being shunned, bullied and basically pushed out of the whole school and church.

Another teacher who i think doesn’t work there anymore but her initials are KM/KJ, she verbally and physically abused an autistic student in front of the whole class. She was never reprimanded for this. She screamed at the top of her lungs as well as knocked all of this student’s belongings off his table while screaming. He was/is autistic and was not doing anything wrong. This same teacher also admitted to me that she had been stalking me online and tried to force me to take down my Facebook page. She was not my parent, nor did she have any reason to be Googling my full name, that’s harassment.

GNLC is a poor excuse for a school, a poor excuse for a Christian community and a poor excuse as educators. This school should be shut down. It’s not good in any capacity. Don’t waste your money.

Also, let me just mention that it’s absolutely disgusting that on GNLC’s website, they acknowledge the Aboriginal land, but they say “God first and foremost”. God does NOT need to be brought into thanking the Indigenous for the land we are on.

Middle school sucks

The teachers were so amazing in junior school apart from a few, but in middle school, they are awful again apart from a few. They care way too much about uniform and the teachers do nothing about bullying I've gone to my teachers in two years asking for some action to be taken against some people that were basically bullying my friend. There's one art teacher who has the biggest ego. One time i was talking to my friend in class and she moved me rightfully so but the next time I simply looked at my friend as she was walking back to her table and got screamed at by her because of it. She also yelled at my friend's friend and when my friend asked her if she was ok she got pulled aside by that teacher and she got told she was being rude and offensive for saying that. However there's one English teacher and one science teacher that I love and two humanities teachers that are super chill. Also last year I had this one teacher for two terms that then left so we had a relief teacher who said she would be there for 8 weeks or something but she stayed for like 2 which probably wasn't her fault but anyway we had this one sub that was so awful and after that we had a bunch of subs and we just did lessons on ep which an online thing which is great with real teaching or as homework but not just alone to do the entire term and so when the assessment came the entire class basically knew nothing fortunately I was able to prepare at home but still it was awful. I don't know about senior school though.

bad experience waste of money

this school was good before the new principal came. you pay for so much and the kids get a limited range of activities and subjects. it seems like the schools image is valued more than the students schooling experience. the school gets no events, special days, barely any excursions and havent run camps in years 9-12. some say you may be paying for the christian environment but there is more to it that is unknown to the parents. bullying happens everywhere and the teachers commonly favour certain students. there was recently a large turnover of staff who left good news to pursue fairer, more enjoyable work environments.

GNLC review

So basically I’ve been at this school for almost 9 years. It used to be very nice and everyone was nice, the teachers were great too. I feel like the quality is going down, as teachers are changing- and becoming very bad. There are still some good ones but many bad ones who don’t even teach right, or act strange. The school has been accepting many new people who are making the community worse by being uneducated and rude. Some people in this school seriously hurt others. Mostly though, it is a nice school if being compared to others. They are very firm and strict with behaviour and uniform. There are good opportunities. Everyone has good friends. Most teachers try their best to improve the community.
