Don't go to irrawang high school

Horrible. People use threats. Weapons being used. Don't send your kid there. Students get away with too much. I put 0 stars if it would let me.

Understanding mental health.

Poor sense of understanding to students struggling with mental health.
Teachers should be more educated on topics including multiple mental health disorders and how to help/deal with them appropriately without singling them out infront of other students or reacting negatively to things that we have no control over.

Do not send your kids here.

School treats students horribly, incredibly unsafe environment overall.

This school is un safe and you should sue this place

School has fights and police at the school at least once a week . Wont address bully’s or death threats but will punish students for things like playing with teachers. Locks the bathrooms leaving one bathroom for all students ( around 1000) and won’t provide enough shade and seating for students. Doesn’t protect its staff and leaves teacher with students who are willing to do harm towards teachers.

Depends on work ethic

I think it really depends on how much your kid is willing to put into their education, if they refuse to do the work and skip class then yes, the teachers won’t be as willing to help them. But if they’re going to actually try, teachers are lovely and do their best to support students. There are so many extra curriculars at school that give students amazing opportunities such as dance, drama, drums, art, chess, d&d, and so many more. Personally I think that if want a good school experience (this goes for any school actually) you need to put in the effort to make it enjoyable. If you participate in class, join extracurriculars you enjoy, communicate with the teachers ect. You can do really well at this school.

Irrawang is bad

The school fails to put students first. Keep spending a whole bunch of money on useless things instead of hiring teachers that actually help. For example, I had to get feedback on my assignment from my mother because my teacher couldn’t be bothered to help. Mind you she has said many times that’s she is here for us, to help, and to guide us. Almost every teacher I have has done this.
