Kanahooka High School

if you are struggling with your mental health, do not attend this school!!! the wellbeing acts like they care, but do not put any effort into checking in with you. some of their staff are very hostile, often showing disinterest when speaking. from my experiences, the wellbeing at dapto high are much more approachable, sometimes seeming even pleased when talking to students. i used to attend this school, but left to become part of dapto, which i feel approach me and my needs better. i am now in year 12, and the wellbeing team at dapto still enjoy checking in with me. kanahooka high should learn. be like dapto, be inviting, friendly, sociable, warm, pleasant. i also find that the wellbeing hub at dapto tend to give out food for their students if they havent ate, which is very sweet, yet kanahooka could never do anything like this for me, or other students, who are struggling to eat. kanahooka also is terrible at keeping students safe, making them crappy support plans, that they will just never use! also they suck at communicating with teachers. if i could go back to this school and suggest one thing, i would suggest that they should touch base with students more, and try actually getting the counselors to engage with struggling and mentally unwell teens. even though the students at dapto high are bad, i never got threatened with being bashed, unlike at kanahooka high. fix your system. xoxo.

There are fights almost every week. The staff are rude. Lunch and recess is to short it’s not a great school

That school is so shit for people struggling with mental health like I am they aren’t trying to get me back to school at all and instead are threading me to repeat like that’s gonna make anything better . I haven’t been in over a term and they haven’t tried helping one bit they are pretending they care , I need help seriously and nothing is being done I had one meeting and that was it. My anxiety from that school has gotten so bad I haven’t left the house in weeks
