I was deeply unhappy at the school and felt obvious bad depression was swept under the carpet and stigmatised as laziness. When I went to university my ability was better recognised and an acute mental illness swiftly, competently and kindly helped by academics and trained staff alike, many of whom were not even required to help, in spite of the difficult nature of the illness. Many days I was so affected by medication that I could not read the blackboard, but I was assisted with notes, and I was very confused with psychosis and could be quite obnoxious to deal with on a few occasions. I remember one occasion when the university academics almost had to call the police. I was forgiven repeatedly for my severe academic difficulties. I was deeply grateful for the kindness and sympathy I received here. At Loreto I was treated with harshness. I would like to think compassion to severe mental illness has improved in the intervening years.
loreto kirribilli is the WORST school you could ever send your child to i went to loreto from kindergarten to year 9 and all they care about it grades and how you do in the HSC i was horrifically bullied for years and the school did absolutely nothing about it, cyber bullied, exclusion, verbal harassment all of it and the school did nothing about it. they let this continue for YEARS and they maybe spoke to the girls once. i attempted my life and on my first day back there was rumours that i faked suicide because i did not message anyone, i was in hospital for 10 days with no phone. when i came back i received no love, no support. not even after i left this school did the rumours stop they continued to talk about me in classes for a whole year. so many people have left loreto due to bullying and it needs to stop and the school needs to take action.
