Loyola College

My child wakes up every morning dreading entering the school gates, she cries continuously about the other students, teachers and rules. I enrolled her thinking she would have a good connection with the staff and other students, not being constantly picked on by her head of house and other staff for minor imperfections in her uniform. I have signed her up for therapy, as a mother it's hard to see my daughter slowly break down, her mental health has become a worry, Loyola college is not what they say it is, I don't recommend enrolling anyone here.

This school is all about image. Ridiculously strict about minor things like uniform or if you’re a few minutes late or beware if you say something to the person sitting next to you during a seminar. Their discipline system is outdated. Yet, when physical violence occurs on the soccer field there are no consequences for the offender. Many students playing video games in class while teacher is aware (this includes important subjects like maths). Compulsory sports on two nights of the week. If you get injured you’re expected to still attend to support your team. Your own time is not yours anymore! It’s like a dictatorship. Sunday compulsory mass! Poor teaching. The list is endless. This school was such a disappointment, did not live up to expectations at all. If parents speak up (politely) about any issues they are made to feel that they are being rude . They don’t care about the individual child it’s all about image. We didn’t stay very long.

I had 2 of my children at this school and have taken them both out. One child was away for 3 weeks as they were looking after their youngest sibling who was unwell while I had to work. Not one of the 12 teachers, nor the mentor leader reached out to see if they were okay, or even alive! Not one! Students are just a number here and many students fall under the radar. Not good enough. Other issues are the class being punished for a single persons actions, too much homework but not enough comprehension assessments, video games are still being played in class by students on their devices, high levels of disruption in class, force students to play inter-school sports, will give your son a razor to shave if they have the tiniest amount of stubble on school photo day. And they do this without parent approval, wether the student has ever used a razor before or not. Lots of small issues add up, and I feel it’s absolutely not worth the fees they charge.

the principal is under investigation about public exposure.. a couple years back a councillor asked a student for drugs.. overall education is okay, they give to much homework especially in grades 7-10. some teachers are nice, it’s a okay school but for it being a private catholic school, idk man

the shittest school in melbourne all they care about it unifrom. i to school with my hair down and get told off like can i fkn live. i go to skl with black socks the really start punching on with me about socks. i want to bomb this school i hope every teacher exept like 2 burns. way to much homework and they email/call parents over the dumbest shit. they r a bunch of racist fucks. government knock this skl down and build shisha cafe.
