Seriously.

This school is terrible. They only care about how we look in the uniform, they don’t care about kids getting bullied, they don’t care about kids being racist, they don’t care about our mental health, half the teachers can’t even teach, and they can’t even control classes. The amount of times I’ve been pulled up for having dyed hair, more than two ear piercings, having my pants rolled up (my pants are too big and they don’t make them in smaller sizes), having nail polish, wearing socks with a brand name in them. They keep saying that the year 12 students are our role models, but the teachers are our role models too, if they are meant to be our roles models and meant to be looking presentable, why are they allowed to have dyed hair, wear multiple bracelets, necklaces, not wear enclosed shoes, have piercings, have acrylic nails or wear nail polish, wear tons of makeup, not have a teacher or staff uniform on. I’ve been threatened with multiple suspensions because I had told them that I’ll start following the uniform rules, when teachers and staff have to follow them as well. So many fights happen at the school, they threaten to expel or suspend students around the fight but not the people who actually were in the fight, slap on the wrist and back to school. Jumpers are another thing, there will be kids playing music on speakers and starting fights but they only pull up the people who are wearing a black, grey or any other coloured jumper. The school jumpers are expensive, they don’t keep you warm at all. The formal, the girls at the school hate the formal, the skirt is really long, the shirt is almost transparent, you can see girls bras underneath, and it’s hot to wear in the summer, if it rains, you can see everything under the shirt. But we still get detentions for not wearing it. Most students at this school dont stop bullying other people, they bully special needs kids at the school. They cause drama every single day, for no reason. They disrupt other students learning in classes because they want to be a class clown and make a fool out of themselves for attention.

this school needs to do better

this school absolutely sucks. the bullying is horrendous, the way teachers treat the students is horrible, everything us absolutely outrageous. They say our school is great, they want kids to come to this school but the fights, the rumours and all the nonsense is driving everyone away from this school. kids are getting suspended and moving to private schools. do better north

This school cares more about what students wear then their educations.

This school is horrible. All the staff care about it uniform and what students wear. Socks, jewellery, formal, hair. Everything. It’s horrible how the staff care more about what students wear than their actual education. Staff should be grateful that the students even show up to school. With no students, they wouldn’t have a job. They make such a massive fuss about wearing bracelets, certain earrings, shoes and the colour of them, necklaces ect. Stop making such a big fuss over little things. Leave the students be. They are at school to learn not be chased down by teachers, and getting suspended or put on a card just because they are wearing mascara, the wrong socks ect. The fact you I force a “home group uniform check” is just pathetic. North is not a private school, it’s a public school. A “formal uniform” isn’t a big fuss and shouldn’t cause students to face a detention because they don’t wear it. The fact the school puts money towards more tables when there are more than enough, instead of fixing the absolutely DISGUSTING junior secondary toilets, that students are scared and disgusted when they step foot in there. This is pathetic north high. Do better.

Time for a step-up

Treatment at the school is poor, they let troubled kids get away with things by not giving them a proper punishment, there is no help whatsoever to prevent fights. They just expect the people there to stop, or by sticking posters on walls thinking it'll make a change. I'm not saying it's very horrific, but I myself have wanted to move schools so many times because of the horrible kids there. Not all are bad, just mainly the well known ones who are willing to do anything to look cool in front of their peers. I wish the school would just take an understanding that our mental health is draining, all becauses of their bad education and lack of care. Their ways of "preventing" fights are bad and in my opinion lazy. This school needs a step up, and they need it now. The number of people that will be rude, judge people, spread rumours, even cause fights because they are so problematic is insanely high. There are more bad kids than good. Mackay North State High School, if you want your kids to enjoy school, to be happy, and not be upset every time Mondays come around, then step up and do something, instead of just sitting there.

Mackay North state high

As a student that was there from grade 7 to 12, the bullying is horrendous, and there really isn't much support for it. Yes the school has great opportunities, programs, but if support isn't there, and if students don't feel safe getting support its not a good environment. Most of ther teachers are amazing and would do anything for their students, there are some that make everything so difficult.

The school is not good

The school is a really toxic place right now because of all the fights happening it doesn’t feel safe.

Its okay.

Mackay north state has lots of different opportunities for kids whom want to Excell in places like music sport and academics. But this school has an issue with fighting and that to put it lightly. I hope in future years these problems will be solve.
