MSHS uniform needs an upgrade

The school offers alot but I'm complaining abt something I'm in year 12 and have always had a problem with the uniform it used to be nice relatively cheap and didnt break much, last year I bought 4 ties within 1 week because they kept breaking $15 each btw prior to that I had gotten one 2 years before and that one lasted for those 2 years but the other uniform like shirts, the buttons are complete ass and unreliable my girlfriend has had her clots break on her during school times 4 times in the past year and a half and for anyone at the school who has a big bim and wears clots well it's just not possible because if you get them that fit then your bum will show while you lean forward or while leaning and so if you get a size up now it hides your bum but now they fall down to where your bum starts and there are no spaces for belts. The school has recently changed to struddies for uniform offering no new uniform at the school and struddies is only open during the week and on bad opening times. Now this wouldn't be an issue so much if we were able to bring long pants or something that is plain with no brand logos or anything on it but we aren't and we got told to borrow from the second hand uniform shop and if we refuse then we get threatened with stage 1 cancellation, suspension or detentions.
My gf bought a 2 pairs of clots when they changed to struddies and within 2 days of wearing a pair the zipper and button broke during last session which shouldn't happen if your spending $40+ for 1 pair
If it wasn't for these bad uniform rules and bad and very overpriced uniforms I'd recommend people to this school but I don't because of the uniform and the toilets are always broken for males and school can't really fix that but there's needs to be cameras outside that show people entering toilets which might help and teachers need to stop letting groups of 4 girls going to 1 bathroom stall and groups of boys aswell
One more thing the senior jersey's are very bad we spent nearly 100 bucks on 1 and they start to break after 2 weeks( the numbers and other text break away )
And in wood work your not allowed to wear your jumpers which I think is complete bs as we pay lots of money for it and we could roll our sleeves up

Marsden high

I would like to start of by saying I am a proud student at this school. Although this school maintains a good reputation there are a few things I would like to address. The school has alot of support systems which is great but alot of those systems aren't very helpful and I'm not naming anyone but one of the year leval hods there is quiet carless about students struggling. They don't do very much about bullying for a school that meant to have a no bullying pollacy. Overall tho this school has so many options and a wide range of sport to chose from, very good with heading you in positive direction and super inclusive especially with lgbtqia+ my teachers always try to correctly use my chosen pronouns. And there are so many positive teachers over there so I would say give it a go.

Turning into a private school

Marsden high school has practically turns into a private school ever since the new principal arrived. So much new rules have been enforced and so much more stricter than before. Most rules being put towards girls than boys. Most of the time, your only allowed in if you have excellent grades or excellent at sports.

It's an alright school.

MSHS has strict rules around clothing, attendance and around submitting assignments. Since the new principle was introduced the rules have tightened even further (Rules were slightly relaxed in 2022). Most teachers care about there students however some don't.

Sexist Rules.

This is a public school, yet they are worse than a private school. Since the new principal was hired he has implemented lots of new rules directed at only girls. There is not one new rule for boys. Girls can’t have pearl earrings (even if they are really small, they have to be either plain silver or plain gold which in my experience is hard to find, i have 2 piercings in each ear and i can only find studs with small crystals in them), no fake lashes whatsoever (teachers have started to actually cut them off which is just disgusting), no fake or longer than normal nails (also have been cutting them off) and are measuring our skirts. I got in trouble for having a very small blue nike tick on my shoes (i went to 4 different shops and these were the only ones they had left, and they were almost $400. i don’t come from a wealthy family we are just below middle class so we can’t afford to get me new shoes). Their only reasoning for these new rules is that it “affects our learning”. I don’t understand how? We can still learn perfectly fine with fake lashes or coloured nails. I’d rather be comfortable while learning instead of worrying what others think of me if i can’t have what makes me satisfied with myself. I got bullied all throughout primary school and from grades 7-8 for my looks an weight. I’m in grade 10 now and I find a great deal of comfort from these things because i think they make me look better.
