As a former student, I can honestly say that my experience at Mount Carmel Catholic College was deeply disappointing. The school often felt more like a prison than a place of learning. The rules were extremely strict and didn’t always make sense, and students were often treated more like problems than people.
Many of the teachers were unapproachable or seemed burnt out, and it felt like there was more focus on discipline and uniforms than on helping students actually enjoy learning. Some classes felt chaotic, while others were so boring and repetitive that it was hard to stay focused.
Mental health support? Basically nonexistent. If you were struggling, it felt like no one really cared. There was also a clear lack of student voice — we weren’t listened to, and our ideas or complaints were ignored most of the time.
I left the school feeling unmotivated and stressed, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to others based on my experience. Schools should make students feel safe, supported, and inspired — sadly, Mount Carmel didn’t do that for me.
I was bullied for years on end, and when I sought help. It was ignored. When I asked to move classes, I was ignored. I am extremely traumatised from all experiences stemming from violence, smoking and vaping, sexual harassment from teachers, extreme vulgar language especially teaching year 7's straight away. Teachers don't care about students, brush you off and ignore serious problems.
Worse school ever funny thing is teachers are a disgrace get better at teaching, so glad I’m not in that school anymore! Very traumatising experience, please do not go there. They say walk in truth but clearly the teachers can’t do that 😂
Go to the public school across from this school probably better
horrible school! teachers dating students, rubbish everywhere, teachers won't help even if you ask for it, SLUT shamed for the length of the skirt, lots of kids doing drugs and vaping in bathrooms, can't do anything on laptop if you don't download Zscaler ( wifi lock stops anything working on laptop even google classroom if not downloaded), lots of bullying, and so much construction disturbing class time blocked half of the school off making it harder to get to class on time ( when late you get detentions)
This school is not the best at all, DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE
This school is absolutely a disgrace, grounds dirty and physical violence is common. When in the bathrooms many people vaping. Do not send your child here!
