Awesome review (mostly for parents)

Currently, I am in grade 9. My rating might be inaccurate due to the horrific schools I’ve been to in the past, so I highly recommend reading the following.

Here’s the major things I’ve experienced in my grade alone:

Kids having sex
Kids vaping
Kids bullying others
Kids wanting to and attempting to kill themselves over bullying
Some really shitty teachers
Disgusting uniforms and policies about them (such as detention for grey socks which is insane)
Unfair and unequal treatment when comparing sports and creativity (favourited as follows: sport, art, music).

Moving onto more positive:

Often immediate support for those who report things
Some excellent staff
Great support for people struggling with school work (though sometimes it’s given to the wrong people)

One of my friends made an attempt on her life after being bullied over something she and another person had done. The other person was a male. He was praised by people and faced no consequences, while she was forced to suffer unfair treatment from staff and student while suffering with a disgusting homelife.

Another one had plans to make an attempt on her life after also being bullied.

Another one of my friends was harassed, stalked and threatened because of a rumour someone else started. The school did almost nothing about it.

There is a disgusting issue of it.

Just the other day I had food thrown at me and my friends because we’re lgbtq. The school offers some support for us, but does nothing to stop the issue at its core.

Despite all the negativity I’ve shown, I will say that, if you’re willing to help your child face the school mentally, I highly suggest Redcliffe. The education is surprisingly great with the right teachers. I’ve had my whole class of absolute idiots and footy boys get straight A’s due to some teachers. The school offers many many opportunities to help with learning, and is one of, if not the, biggest upsides about the place. You just have to be willing to check in with your kid and make sure they’re okay.

Also, students, HIDE YOUR DAMN SHIT!!!!!! Don’t put things in the side of your bag!!! An old friend of mine walks around stealing stuff out of peoples bags if she can see it!!

Anyways,
Thanks for like reading my very lovely review of this hellhole,
Vin

I have a lot to say.

Hi. I am a student that currently goes to this school and let me tell you, this is the worse school to go too if you have issues with mental health. If you stay home for too long and you're obviously struggling at school and the teachers see that they whine! 'please come to school please!' what will happen if that student ends up dead cause of this school? I myself struggle with mental health and I'm autistic and yet this school doesn't care at all, they know I struggle to even work and get to school. Oh and also they do NOT care about people who have been sexual assaulted at this school. I have heard so many people with stories that they tell the school and they just pass it off?! Are you kidding me?! How pathetic! I heard a story where a girl got sa'd and the school brushed it off cause the assaulter was autistic. THAT DOESNT GIVE THEM AN EXCUSE! all assaulter need to go even if they have a disorder. Oh! And let's not forget the students, there is one student I know that gets bullied daily. I don't know if it's a joke or not but whatever it is it's not funny! That kid got choked on the wall and the teachers didn't do anything! Oh and if you have like level 1-2 autistic the teachers don't care. They only care if you yell and scream then you get the help you need but if you're quiet and struggling to speak up they don't care. I am one of those students I have gotten bullied many times and the school rules are stupid. Crying over me wearing a shirt under my uniform cause I am uncomfortable with my arms in the air oh! And let's not forget they DO NOT help when you're struggling with work! They just demand more and more work till you cry! Today I was sobbing to go to school because i know I will be judged, I bet they won't even read this cause of how self entitled they are too busy with they're 'perfect school while the rest struggle !

DON'T SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!

I DO NOT recommend this school ( I was sexually assaulted / poisoned / gotten my private belongings stolen / been constantly harassed by staff members and been hit by other students violently.(because I got a disability)

I never felt safe at that school.

Poor Performance Redcliffe High school

It is easy to quote Gandi. However it is not so easy for Redcliffe high school to apply these principles in practice. Currently I have an issue going on with Two staff members from Redcliffe high school. Who are victimizing my daughter. Over an incident that happened yesterday afternoon the 2/6/2023. If there is no change in direction by this school I intend to lodge an application for an external review with the Regional education board for their unprofessional conduct. This is why I am appealing to other parents who have suffered similar grievances with this school to come forward. And provide me with the written evidence for their cases. In the event that this information becomes needed for an external review process. My email is bertluch@yahoo.com.au and my name is Albertus Luchjenbroers Thank you for any assistance.

Mainstream schools 😭

I have mental health issues and some other disabilities, they say they will help you at the Saber Center but I use to sit in there half of the day with other students walking in and out during lunch until someone would go do you want to go home. It was hard enough for me to go in there and tell them how overwhelmed and anxious I was and asking for help but I would just sit there for hours crying in a pile of tissues the. The only days I would actually be able to go back to class is if Norman the therapy dog was there that day. I had one teacher when doing science, we where looking through magnifying glasses and I was getting really dizzy so I told the teacher. I then realised a little later it was cause I had my glasses on and in front of the whole class she says is it because your dyslexic. I don’t even know what the to have to do with each other. My favourite teacher was my Japanese teacher she was so kind and understanding and talked to us like actual humans not robots that can be programmed to be perfect. Thing I am really annoyed about is that one of the school counsellors said that they will help me when I can’t get to class or if it just to much for me. I had one meeting with them and I never really talked to them again even if I asked if I could se them. I am now at an alternative school and so much more confident then I thought I could ever be. Mainstream schools need to change

Horrible

Horrible school. All the teachers are extermely rude and condescending towards all kids and the school is letting go of one of the only nice teachers. They do not care about students opinions at all and staff offer no help.

Student review of RSHS

Very good resources and support system, bullying happens as much as you would find anywhere else but school cracks down on it straight away.
