Sacred Heart Girls College

My daughter has recently started attending this school, and we couldn’t be happier. The school is extremely supportive and truly focuses on helping the children be the best they can be. We are very impressed with the care, encouragement, and dedication shown to every student.

Could not recommend this school less. I attended from years 8-12. The entire culture of the school is toxic, controlling and stifling. Individuality is repressed in favour of strict and baseless rules and regulations (non- uniform socks could result in detention). The principal is a performative charlatan. This school does not care about student health and well-being in the slightest. It is homophobic, transphobic and disgustingly conservative. Over my time there I knew LGBTQ+ students who were told by teachers that they could not hold hands at school. Sacred Heart fosters a culture of bullying and popularity contests. This is not the school to send your daughter to if you want her to grow into a kind, well balanced woman. This is a school that caused me and so many others to develop trauma and mental illness - and the staff simply do not care. From an educational perspective, the standard of teaching is unbelievably low. All the girls I know who performed well on VCE exams had private tutors or taught themselves. I graduated with a 98.55 ATAR and I taught myself everything. In particular, my literature teacher was absent for 2/3 of classes. I engaged my own private resources. Sacred Heart takes credit for good marks, but the teachers are sub-par and care more about uniform guidelines than teaching. Facilities wise- it’s a concrete block. There’s no grass at this school. Do not send your child here. I don’t know a single person who has fond memories of their time at Sacred Heart.
