Zero support

My experience at iggys was awful. I was getting bullied and went to my year level coordinator crying and she went against everything I had said and made me very uncomfortable. She then proceeded to basically say I was the reason for my bullying and i needed to suck it up. I had been in welbeing on countless occasions times even being pulled from classes because I was crying and they were no help they would let me sit in the area for 10 minutes but then I was forced to go back to class and buy the end of the second period I was on the phone to my mum balling my eyes out asking to come home. This school is seriously lacking in mental health support and needs to work on this.

Your average school

The school itself is nice, good buildings and lots of sport areas. A handful of teachers are really nice and amazing teachers but a lot of them are old and don’t seem to enjoy teaching that much which makes their classes miserable. They have a questionable use of money; they spend heaps on new buildings and yet most year levels still have old crappy chairs and tables. They also love to make us buy textbooks only to later give us the online version which cost half as much. They also are absolutely ridiculously strict on the uniform, no one is allowed to have died hair, only 1 piercing in each ear allowed etc. this completely contradicts their school “values” where they say that they want each student to be able to express themselves and be our true self. A uniform is good, it does create a good image and keeps everyone equal but deciding how we can have our hair and what piercings we can have on our own bodies shouldn’t be anyone’s decision except our own.
