As a guy who went there for 4 years, Don't send ur kids here
This is by far the most horrendous school I've been to. It's purely a culture of swearing, slurs, and bullying if you act "corny/cringe" around these students because apparently there's only one right way to act and make jokes. Sometimes even vapes in the toilets. It's ironic. Almost all of the guys in the higher year levels there have zero decency (making adult jokes and weird comments about women) and yet try to preach Islamic values at the same time.
Also, this school is genuinely not a safe space for intellectually disabled kids. They're mocked at, laughed at, teased, and then when they finally speak up, the person harassing them manipulates the situation in front of teachers and staff to make them seem like a weirdo that crashes out for no reason. Extremely toxic. If you put your child at this school and wonder why they're acting up or looking more down lately, it's become of the toxic as environment and dynamics in this school's friend groups.
I can only count on my fingers the amount of teachers that this school actually has that don't fall into improper teaching habits or poor communication of the content. Supporting the actual student outside of answering a question is scarce, and the quality of the uniform is just terrible man like uncomfy to put on, can't handle long term soccer at lunch time without eventually ripping and the sports uniform get discolored into this brownish/orangish color after a while.
The coordinators at this school seem to care about controlling students’ appearance more than supporting their actual learning. Older male students have to shave facial hair and are restricted from certain haircuts while female students can't express themselves with makeup or accessories so the school can be presented as a "neat school", even though that is one of the most unimportant elements for a school to be considered good. Personal grooming of their bodies is a student's personal bodily choices Sirius kbc, and having a burst fade or mullet isn't some measure of behaviour that the general public thinks makes the student seem 'less respectful'.
As a student who has attended this school for 6 years, I can offer an insightful review into what this school is really about.
I speak with little bias, however, I cannot promise you that my words are free from it.
Up until my first year attending this school, I was quick to understand a sort of racial hierarchy present in the school’s environment. Students of central asian and Turkish decent were often treated with a bias. As a south asian student, it was clear to me that there was a drastic difference in how I was treated and how students with paler skin tones were. Though it is hard to speak on my experiences while also staying anonymous.
Teachers are quick to pick favourites, and ditch students who do not immediately start doing well right off the bat.
Teachers hardly teach well, and go through content rapidly without a general consensus on the class’s understanding.
The teachers often blame the student for not being able to keep up and rather than supporting, they make it seem like a crime to actually teach properly.
Poor teaching habits such as a heavy workload with little to no teaching.
Class environments are toxic, and as mentioned before, are formed around a racial hierarchy.
Coordinators and staff place more importance in presentation and uniform than teaching.
Aside from this, they seem to struggle with keeping proficient teachers who actually do well which I can only assume is due to maltreatment.
The school lacks in so many other aspects.
Uniform prices are an absolute scam, the quality wears down after a term.
Staff running the uniform shop are rude and look down on parents/students. I have various recounts where my parent was treated in a condescending manner right in front of me.
The office staff are useless and bend rules and procedures depending on their mood. They are not at all understanding and offer little to know help when asked.
The highschool/VCE coordinator only uses the excuse of being harsh and strict to continuously mistreat you and look down on you.
If you’re a student who is currently attending this school then your experience is either a smooth sail or every day could be a living hell.
You are easily neglected if you do not fit some standard.
Moreover, self expression is shunned. It is not a safe space for the LGBTQIA, disabled…ect.
If you are a parent or a student looking to attend this school, then I can only warn you for the environment.
