Springfield Central State High School

Hi, former student here. I completed all of high school at this school, and somehow every year there was always some miss communication between teachers, or students and teachers that would cause big ordeals and then the parents would have to get involved. The schools values talk about shaping children for the real world, and making sure they can be “job ready” for when they graduate. However the schools focus is completely off topic. They focus more on their students uniforms than the things that matter. So many students face bullying everyday, and as soon as a student retaliates and tries to defend or stand up for themself they are in the wrong. The school puts out more detentions around school uniforms than actual students behaviour. Children run around swearing, screaming, throwing food acting like animals. Yet teachers only warm them once to stop, then leave the situation alone, there is no discipline the students have to face and no consequences for their actions. However when it comes to uniforms the school tends to be all on top of that. Girls get into trouble for having hair down, yet boys with hair past shoulder length get left alone. Certain earrings aren't allowed at school, however eye brow piercings and dermals are looked over. And students get into trouble for wearing out of date uniforms. Have the teachers not considered that the clothes are second hand or hand me downs? Not everyone can afford to pay for shiny new uniforms. Certain teachers I remember were often helpful when it came to learning in class. However the ladies in admin, and the head of years were often quite passive aggressive and rude to their students. There have been some instances where students book meetings with teachers to address a concern, only to be scolded, unheard and passive aggressively spoken to by three teachers in one sitting. The communication skills at this school are awful, where students get into trouble and teachers do not communicate with one another, making the whole situation word of mouth, as if it were chinese whispers. The teachers need to understand that respect goes both ways, and that it isnt given it is earned. They pressure their students to be respectful by being rude and passive aggressive towards them, instead of showing a good example of what a respectful person would do in the “real world”. The school needs to get their act together and start focusing more on how they treat their kids and the whole bullying situation instead of focusing on their uniform or hairstyle. They focus too much on how good they look in front of other schools and the “outside world” rather than focusing on what is happening between students within the school. Last time
I checked, this school was a public school, not private, therefore uniform policies should not be so strict and should probably be a lower priority than actual bullying. Students will act up and be disrespectful to the teachers that show the same behaviour back, being disrespectful isnt born, its taught, the teachers need to understand this and talk to their students like they are humans, students, and young adults. Not babies, not toddler and not animals, it wont get across. Hopefully the school can get a grip and understand this before they lose their students and close down for good.

this school is SO horrible. there is gunk everywhere around the floor. My daughter used to go to this school and it was absolutely disgusting. Please, if your child goes to this school, you need to transfer them now. They're definitely hiding stuff from you inside the school. Springfield Central State High School is horrible. change my mind.

What kind of school demolished a girl child’s self esteem by telling her she smelly and allowing other kids to bully her. Now the child lost her self esteem, refusing to attended school, refusing to eat, always staying in her room, fade up of life because of the bullying from her own teacher, allowing other kids to bullying other children. This has to stop and if anything happened to the girl child , you’re accountable. Will report this this to the Minister of education. You don’t accomodate diversity at your school, if you think the child was clean enough, you can’t tell her in front of the whole class that “ you smell ‘. To me this Springfield central state high school you fail our child. I think the teacher also shouldn’t allowed to teach children due to the bullying happening in the classroom. The school reviews is shocking. This bullying needs to stop, children are committing suicidal thoughts because the school is promoting bullying at school.

Its not bad but definitely not good 💀. The students here are so weird and always tryna fight ESPECIALLY the year 7s (2023). So many vapers and “gangster” type kids 😂 theyre so ghetto. Bathrooms are never open and i almost pissed myself once. But ngl there are good times at this school and the events are pretty cool, such as the multi cultural day, rekon and the karaokes that happen. But those happen very rarely. Not many fun things to do here but the education is good. Just because the education is good/decent doesnt mean you should come here. You spend most of your days at school and if its not fun, dont bother. - HKM

Shit the school food taste eh I tried get a toastie for me and my mate and it was so thin and moist the school so fucken big yet they still expect you to be able to get to your classes for the dumbest reasons they have no idea what the perfect time is for a suspension say if you swore they would try bump you up for 5 days
