As a former student at St Eugene College, I was asked to immediately remove big loops, remove non-school uniforms and be told to go to reconnect. I rather a school that lets you express yourself with accessories then a school that requires to follow etiquette properly through clothing and what accessories you must wear. This school restricts that you must wear uniforms that is uncomfortable for wearing and you must follow restricted policies about your appearance. one example of this is your haircut limits are restricted so you can't get it too short or too long, the school pretty much chooses what haircut you must follow. what I do like about the school is its accommodation which is very spatial for break time and buildings for class time. Especially the environment (mainly the trees for decoration and to deplete the carbon dioxide levels) which helps students with asthma have access to clean air to breathe in without getting an asthma attack. In my opinion I rate this school an average not just its accessibility to school items and accessibility to attend fun activities/camps and excursions but mainly its restrictions because of the policies that require students to do something or wear a specific item/clothing properly. In my opinion this school needs to implement some school exemptions for some policies or make the policies be broader and be less strict to be followed by students. I fully support my parents' decision in change where I attend for education, but I will remember this school not just for its safeness but its strictness.
I was bullied and the school did not care I was forced to do HPE when I broke my ankle I was sexually harassed but other kids and the school did not care. They like taking other peoples stuff as they took my my dead grandma’s bracelet and never gave it back
they also gave me depression with the Bullies it got that bad it gave kids Suicidal thoughts and taking their life at a young age, teachers would sexual harassed kids in the bathroom this never happened to me but it happened to other kids. when i was in year 7 i was on crutches as i broke my ankle and this kid would push me into lockers and told teachers that i was bulling him and harnessing him i was on crutches and they did not care, and as of year 8, 2 teachers have been bulling me about my weight and being rude about my uniform be like be grateful i am coming to school and i am not coming in my pjs as a uniform is a uniform
Hi, My name is Caitlin Jukes I used to go to St Eugene College. And the reasons I left the school is because, my brother, Riley Jukes was not educated properly, they always sent him home instead of doing their job and actually handling it, another reason was because when I was there this girl in my class Holly F (I don’t know how to spell her last name) she bullied me and she made fun of me because I had my period and puberty and she would always say rude things about me.
there are only a very very small few amount of teachers who i am grateful for. the rest are rude, ignorant, inconsiderate, and hypocritical. as well, a teacher who is also my year level coordinator has said many time a racial slur (someone recorded it and it’s made it’s way around school) and nothing is being done about it. there is no addressing it and apologizing. instead, anyone who has shared the video, received the video or even watched the video, they are being suspended (obviously its about 80% of students grade 7-12 that have seen the video, so they haven’t gotten everyone).
the only reason it gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because there are a VERY small amount of teachers who i am very grateful for. now, the rest of these teachers, they are horrible. they’re loud and rude and they definitely don’t understand that there is constantly so much on many students plates. they demand respect but they don’t want to give it back. one teacher in specific is currently in a ‘scandal’ as she’s said many racial slurs, and students recorded this. but instead of addressing it and apologizing, the school has made it that anyone who has seen the video, shared the video, or received the video are to be suspended. as well, many teachers have been reported to the principal (by myself, friends, and other students i do not often speak with), but nothing is being done.
not only are students absolutely crapped on, there is no room for self-expression. the school expects us to be carbon copies of one another. a visible necklace, a bracelet or ring, a few extra piercings, or earrings that have even the smallest gem in them. none of these are tolerated. it’s not just ‘strict policy rules’, it’s taking away our identities. teachers are allowed all the jewelry and piercings they like, but when a student has the same piercing, it’s suddenly a matter of ‘representing the school’.
