It's a 'fail' for the principal, and the whole system
They say they are inclusive but they don't have the a principle managing an inclusive culture, a learning support team who understands neurodiverse learner needs, teachers implementing even the most minimum of supports, or the systems to make the whole thing work. And then when you try to advocate, they will make you feel like you and your child are the problem. Stay very far away if your child is neurodiverse.
Appalling behaviour of students on public transport
Have contacted the school previously to advise of poor student behaviour on public transport in the local area however have simply been told 'please come to the school to identify the students you believe were behaving poorly.'
On Friday 16th May afternoon (after school) at Hornsby Station, a group of St Leo students literally pushed / shoved an elderly lady using a walking frame - out of the way to charge onto the #596 bus. The lady was not able to aboard the bus and had to wait until the next bus arrived.
On previous occasions I have contacted the school to advise of other poor behaviour - appalling course language and students playing high-pitched frequencies on the bus disturbing passengers and hiding from public view - all while in school uniform.
The school administration clearly has no regard for its declining reputation in the area or for developing community-minded citizens as part of its education process.
If your child is middle of the road, St Leo’s could work for them. If your child needs something different to the average child, be aware that St Leo’s falls short when it comes to accommodating the needs of kids who are gifted, neurodiverse or have learning difficulties.
