Traumatising

Ive had a horrible time at this school, the students are extremely judgemental, the teachers even worse. I've always struggled with anxiety and attending this school has ruined my mental health. Stay away from the well-being center if your in an emotional state, last time I tried to go there crying and having an anxiety attack they told me to go back to class and said I "came at a bad time."

If you want to kill your child, send them here

If you're not some damn blonde-haired, blue-eyed, stick-thin, pompous elitist piece of garbage, get ready to be mercilessly bullied until you're pushed to the edge of suicide.

My time at that hellhole called 'Sunshine' was an absolute nightmare! I had no one to lean on, not even the damn teachers who took pleasure in tormenting the students. Privacy and support were nonexistent.

Once, during an excruciatingly difficult year at Sunshine, I sought support from their mental health system. I shared the immense stress I was experiencing from school, friends, and family, and even acknowledged feeling a bit depressed. Can you believe what the school therapist did with that information? They promptly informed my parents about my suicidal thoughts, thoughts of which didn’t exist, subjecting me and my family to years of being on suicide watch.

To make matters worse, my friends, who were going through autistic meltdowns, were consistently sent to hospitals. Instead of handling the situation with empathy and understanding, the school staff ignorantly labeled it as psychotic episodes. It was a disgraceful display of incompetence and lack of knowledge.

They shamelessly neglected to assist or make any accommodations for my dyslexia and autism, leaving me to navigate through their abysmal educational system with little to no progress. As a result, I now find myself lacking fundamental life skills necessary for survival, such as managing bills, understanding sex education, basic timekeeping and arithmetic, and even proper workplace decorum. It is an outrageous failure on their part, denying me the vital knowledge and tools I require to thrive in the real world.

If this pathetic excuse for a school is your only option, I'd strongly advise homeschooling your child instead. It's the least you can do to protect them from this wretched hellspawn of an institution.

Great support

I really enjoy this school, they have a wide range of subjects and put in a great effort to support you in and help you achieve the future you wish for. When issues occur the staff are more than willing to support in any way they can, and will continue to support you till you feel comfortable and are happy with their survive.

It has its good and bad

The school closed off most of the toilets and left 2 toilets out of 7 toilets open. Then will complain why students come to class late. Especially when it’s senior students Senior 4 class which is the juniors second break. Most the the time students are told not to be able to go to the toilet.

Don’t even get started on the tuck shop lines during break. Senior students miss out half or even 3/4th of their only break to spend it at waiting in the tuck shop line. Senior students should be able to have their own line allowing senior students to have something to eat.

BAD SCHOOL

literally every teacher here is racist and doesn’t care about you or your education. got kicked out of the head of english teachers office for expressing my concerns about my teacher being racist to me. embarrassed to say i went to this school. only recommend going it you want to be fully depressed for the whole of high school and mentally unstable for the rest of you life.

Don’t even bother.

If you want to be mentally unstable, this school is the best place to go!

By the way SBSHS, confiscating your students phones after school hours and not letting them pick them up is illegal in AUS. I pay for my own phone bills, I work for the privilege to have a phone. To have my phone snatched from my hand for checking the time at LUNCH is mental. I have a right to my own property, you don’t. Stay in your lane and chill out!

Embarrassed to say went to this school.

Bullying, harassment and no support for those who need it. The teachers either don’t teach or favour one gender of the other and disclude people when they feel like it. Horrible at following up with issue that were present and when called out they hide it with everything they can. Do not recommend to send your child here if you want a happy child
