Caring more about their appearance than their education.

My final years of high school were spent at TIGS, and with the experience of going to 4 other schools in my time, TIGS was the best for sure. For the most part, the teachers are absolutely excellent. They’re very hands-on and I noticed they would often come to students after class and asked if they needed help with topics they seemed to struggle with. The issue I have with TIGS is the higher-ups and the uniform guidelines. The higher-ups are sloppy with their work and documents I sent to them and meetings I scheduled were not looked at for weeks on end, sometimes even months. As for the school uniform, I absolutely hated it, and I know many of the students did too. The school seemed to get stricter with uniform coming up to graduation, which meant that a students HSC preparation would be interrupted if their hair was down or if their beard wasn’t shaven, and they would be sent to the office in that extremely precious study time. Overall, I do recommend TIGS, although I encountered so many issues with them that extremely hindered my work and education.

Good people, bad leadership

TIGs would like to imagine it’s an inner sydney or melbourne private school, judging by the strict uniform guidelines and focus on appearances. Unfortunately, it lacks the actual successes to do even compare. The retirement of the current principal is a good step for the school, as she is painfully bad in her role. The primary problem in TIGs is many of the teachers are good - it is their higher ups, the executive department which sabotages the school. The school’s grounds and facilities are also substandard considering the facilities of other schools with similar tuition fees.
