Tropical North Learning Academy - Smithfield State High School

We're definitely better than some schools like That or Redlynch I'm the fact that we don't have full on stabbings, but we still have some bad fights. There's also the drug issue. So many students will vape in the bathrooms, some even pulling cones in there. The education is okay, it just depends on the tea her you have. Some are really chill and will let you listen to music (which is great for people like me who can't concentrate sometimes without it) but you have some teachers who are so in your fave and will get mad at you for even drawing instead of writing the 30 different paragraphs from the whiteboard. I have several more issues but don't wanna make it too long so.

Smithfield State High School, is terrible, to say the least, many students have come forward and have told me that they don’t feel safe in the school environment, teachers are slack and don’t teach you properly ignoring any questions you have or speak to you as if you are dumb when they do answer your question. Students constantly harming or bullying other students, it’s absolutely revolting going to school everyday fearing whether you are next, racism isn’t dealt with properly, the indigenous students play victim and use the racist card to excuse their poor behaviour and because we have mainly white teachers and HOD, they cannot say otherwise. I feel scared attending the school.

The school’s reputation to the others is impeccable, well respected and full of high achievers such as myself, but everyday there is a fight of some sort and it got so bad online they introduced a bag it or box it policy that doesn’t even work because kids just put their phones in their pockets. The school is so strict on uniform too, it go so bad that like, caps, hoodies, shorts, socks and shoes if your aren’t wearing dress code you get a detention, told to take it off and go home to get dressed. Another big problem that not everyone knows is that drugs is a major problem, from things such as vapes to hard core drugs such as marijuana and cocaine is sold at my school and dealt with. The school environment is just super toxic, and the school is only on their “best behaviour” when other schools are there because the principal is walking around the school all day. And one more thing, the school students are suckers for fights, there’s one every week if not every few days over the dumbest things, but everyone enjoys it, word gets around faster than a bushfire and the crowds run faster than Usain Bolt.
