Westfields Sports High School

As a student once myself and having three siblings here now, I feel like they isn't given enough work and they don't ever get any educational excursions. The teachers here are so lazy, they even ask for pay rise when they do no shit for the school. My little sister, who has bowel issues, gets ignored by office ladies when in severe pain and yet they do nothing about it.

I'd also like to add how unfair the teachers treat locals, like my family, compared to sporties. The sporties go all over social media, and they don't give a fuck about the locals. No assemblies, no camps, no excursions, no mufti days, no nothing. They pay no attention to locals but they say how sporties become big athletes. Well, no shit!

I'm disgusted to see my little sisters come home, some days crying, because they are being bullied and the school is doing absolutely nothing. I mean, last year, one of them got an after school detention for raising her voice in class, but all she was doing was telling someone to stop picking on her. The staff need to pull their heads out of their asses and do something.

Uniform here is also a piece of shit because they make you change for PE, which makes my sisters really uncomfortable and also make you get a fucking not for being out of uniform. I mean, come on. It's not big of a deal. The jackets aren't even warm, the kids don't care and the teachers are so strict about uniforms.

Speaking of teachers, my final point is that teachers here have no care for the people being bullied and only target people who do nothing wrong. The staff don't give the kids enough work and my siblings come home and complain for more homework. The school's education system is shit and should be told to the new gen students.

I am very disappointed with how the school handled my son’s situation today.
My son sent me a message saying his stomach was hurting. I called the school and told them I wanted to take him to the doctor and would bring a doctor’s note. They agreed.

When I arrived, I had my two-month-old baby with me and asked if my son could come out so I could sign the form outside. They refused and said I had to come in to sign. I went inside, signed the paper, and waited. They did not bring my son. I got tired from standing and carrying my baby (I also have a serious neck and back problem), so I went back to the car.

I waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes, and still they did not bring my son. I don’t speak English very well, and I feel like they took advantage of that. Yes, my son made a mistake by using his phone in class, but that does not justify making him stay and refusing to let me take him to the doctor when he was not feeling well. This is not the right way to treat students or parents.

To be honest, do not go to this high school. Majority of staff and teachers don’t do well to educate their students. There are only some that will actually teach you, that is if you’re lucky enough to even have them. There are very little teachers that will understand you.

Do I feel safe here? Not really, it’s a very stressful environment, considering there are many students who get out of control and teachers who don’t do anything. There are also teachers who dob on students.

The uniforms are expensive and not worth it. Jackets are very thin, only with 1 zipper and one other open pocket.
Teachers are very strict on maintaining perfect uniform. Honestly, uniform notes are one of the most silliest things i have ever encountered. Wearing black socks instead of white? Uniform slip.

Classrooms are okay, sometimes disorganised and messed up by previous students. Outdoors is also fine.

The canteen is expensive too. Just make or buy your food elsewhere.

The school is very focused on only education and students who do sport. There’s not much activities that encourage creativity, and if there were, it’s already too late.

Sport/PE activities are repeated and often not as fun. There’s not much options.

Coming to this high school only discourages you.

Honestly wish I could give 0 stars upon wshs, but I can’t so 1 is okay. The following is purely based off my own personal experience and opinion. They really only care about their sport students, brushing off the needs of everyone else. If you want your kids to succeed in a sport school though, take them to hills sports high school. This is just based upon my experience of their reputation within wshs. If you or your child already goes to westfields, best to leave now before it’s too late. The education is not taken seriously and you don’t gain much from it. I was supposed to have received 3 certificates from completing 3 different EVET courses and received nothing from them. You can tell I am really pissed for the amount of years I spent there and partially blame myself for staying. Don’t get me started on the favoritism, cause I can go all day about how some of the students (particularly ‘sporties’) treat others. They look down on you for not fitting their standards and talk badly about each other then proceed to act like everything is chocolates and rainbows between them. This is called being fake😀 Let’s also talk about the fact that there are no extracurricular activities for students who don’t do sports. You are only allowed to attend swimming, athletics and cross country if you participate in their events. They don’t have any excursions, school or camp trips, no meaningful fundraisers within the school either. If you want the full and happy high school experience just attend a normal public school. I realised too late, but hopefully I can help someone else gain the experience I should have got.
